Island retreat

I can not believe how cold it was today and they say that its "spring"..??? LIARS!!!
As it was constantly raining outside with a bit of taste of hail, I started reminiscing a trip that a couple of friends and I took last spring. The trip was really last minute and unplanned since we were busy preparing for exams. However we took a chance. Right after our exams we immediately said goodbye to big fluffy jackets and hello everlasting sunshine!!

As I said we didn't really care where we went as long as it wasn't cold and windy. So a friend of mine suggested MALTA. Honestly I didn't know what to expect all I knew was that its a tiny little island in the middle of the Mediterranean sea. Apparently the weather there was nice, plenty of sunshine yet there were still a bit of wind but we didn't mind. Finally we got to pull out all our skimpy outfits mini dresses, shorts, tank tops etc...Yihaaaa!!

Everywhere we went we were surrounded by the clear blue ocean water that kinda makes you want to jump in and swim. The city was nothing extravagant though. It was mostly filled with old rusty buildings with out dated architecture which somehow I imagine to have some resemblance to a fort. I guess this what makes it stands out from other cities. Its true uniqueness!!

Personally, my favorite moment was our visit to Mdina. Its situated in the highlands a few hours from the capital Valletta. We went to a cafe called "Fontanella" located at the peak which overlooks the city. The view is amazing!! Definitely a nice spot to chill and relax while enjoying some beverages. During the rest of our trip there, we also had the chance to do some shopping, snorkeling, diving, sightseeing and even visited a couple of museums. Overall our getaway was fun and exciting just what we needed!!
