Believe it or not, this red hounds tooth sweater is about the same age as me. Formerly owned by my mom who had already stored it in boxes ready to be given away but thankfully I managed to come to the rescue and snatched it in a quick second. Truth is, I guess we're just not ready to part with it yet and I do think it still deserves to experience its second generation adventures. Might this be what they meant by being reborn...

I'm completely smitten over these super cute mittens...In case you were wondering:
a) Yes they are hard to work around with as it limits the amounts of things you can do with your fingers
b) They do make you look as if you have a pair of penguin hands - not exactly attractive at all
But when you're dealing with -14 degree weather, i'm completely down with wearing anything that can basically keep me nice and warm.

Happy Monday Peeps!!

Pardon the extremely late travel post but I have been busy being stupid these past few weeks. A quick getaway to Bangkok was definitely a nice way to kick off my heels and escape from my day to day office attire of pencil skirts and pin striped trousers.I think the only outfits I brought consist of shorts, tees and sneakers which was just perfect for the undeniably hot weather. Good old pure lazy time would probably best sum up this whole entire trip.

The In Between...

This blazer has got to be one of the most worn item in my closet.
We found each other about 3-4 years ago and still going strong 'til this day.
How is it that I'm able to have a longer commitment with my wardrobe than an actual relationship??
I guess this is what Belle meant by.....

2013...Bring it on!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

This post is quite long overdue. It should have been up on the blog before Christmas but since I had an early plane to catch and holiday madness thus it had to wait upon my return. So how did you spent the last days of 2012? I spent mine with a bit of a stomach ache. In which I still haven't figured out what it might have been from...could be either food poisoning or stomach flu which I find somewhat surprising considering I have a pretty tough stomach...just my luck I guess!

Moving on to healthier topics, what has particularly changed during the time of being MIA from the blog would probably be my fascination towards skincare and beauty/hair products. I've basically been a bit of a product hoar the past year, thanks to all those beauty guru's! Here's a quick glimpse of my bed time regime...Night cream [prescribed by my dermatologist], Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment with avocado, Mario Badescu Drying Lotion, Vaseline Pure Petroleum Jelly and Marks & Spencer Hand Lotion.

I try not to use a lot of products when going to bed simply because I want to give my skin a rest. So after deep cleansing with the Clarisonic, i just slap on those products. The Mario Badescu Drying Lotion has got to be my holy grail when it comes to spot treatment. Since I have oily acne prone skin, it seems that this has been the only product that's able to work instantly. I have to say the only downside would be its packaging, the fact that it's in a glass bottle makes it kind of impossible to travel with.

So what are your bed time regime?

Call me borderline obsessed when it comes to these crisp buttoned polo shirt because i may have them in almost every color. The well tailored and slim fit design certainly adds a masculine touch, great for work attire. However i've completely abused them and am caught guilty for wearing it both work and play. Now if only Polo had them out in either gray or khaki, my hunt would be over.

Guess who's back?
Back again???
Shady's back....
Tell a friend.....
*Cue Em's gnarly verse

Don't worry I'll spare you from my bad rapping and better move on. So what's new? Nothing apparently by the look of this blog...I spent the past year living life beyond the virtual world, as one should. But sometimes reality can suck and a dose of fantasy is much needed. Thus is the purpose of this blog. Call me cray cray but I do consider this blog as some what like my alter ego just like how Beyonce has Sasha Fierce, Bruce Wayne has Batman and even Marshall Mathers aka EMINEM has Slim Shady. Therefore it's quite understandable how others might not approve nor understand  the existence of this blog which is ok....but do note that: this is my fantasy so please get your 'effin reality away from me ;)

More fashion to come....*woot woot*

Today's post is nothing new. i'm sure you're all probably familiar with the typical "what's inside your bag" post so i thought i might hop on the bandwagon and share what's in mine. just like any other girls out there i can not survive without those large bags because obviously they're just more practical. these bags are basically made to store everything from make up, bottled water up to emergency flats in the event we would need to change from those sky high heels. the thing though with large bags is that i have a bad habit of throwing in junk i don't need which end ups it getting pretty heavy. eventually, heavy bags equals aching shoulders or at least in my case.
to avoid this, i've refrained from using large bags lately. instead, when i don't need to lug around my humongous camera i'd rather go for small purses or clutches. now little bags means less space..duh! thus i found my self editing the insides of my large bag which turned out to be quite tricky. for the most part, i traded in my wallet for a mini card holder because most wallets can get a bit plumply and take up too much space. besides i don't usually carry much cash so as long as i have my Credit Card and ATM then i'm good to go. as for the rest of the items i guess it's pretty self explanatory :)

ever since i saw Emma Stone strut the red carpet in her peach Calvin Klein dress at the Globes my jaw immediately dropped. one thing that came to mind was that i needed something similar - color wise in my closet. despite the mixed reviews she had endured i thought the dress was perfect for her. amongst the ocean of pouffy bedazzled dresses, i was glad she was able to offer something more youthful but still elegant in a more minimalistic way. thus on the hunt I went and look what i found....by all means it's far from any red carpet dress but instead of going all the way red carpet ready i thought of taking a more casual approach. something wearable for day to day purpose, so this peachy maxi was a perfect fit combined with a denim vest and comfy shoes :)

how was your Easter weekend? spent mine outdoors connecting with nature, where i managed to comeback with a couple of minor bruises and loads of muddy clothes...seems like nature hates me ;P

when it comes to choosing a party dress, i can be somewhat complicated. i don't mean to be a prude but dressing all scantily clad is just not my thing hence i usually opt to look for something cute and simple with minor details yet still has an edge to it without looking way too sexy. how confusing, right :) of course, i have nothing against those micro mini sexy bodycon dresses...so if your into that whole look then more power to you! i guess it's the mere fact that i need to be realistic because those kind of dresses simply doesn't cater to my body type. let's face it, if it's not flattering and makes you uncomfortable then why force it?
one major thing though that i always keep in mind is deciding what i want to showcase, if it's the legs then i try to avoid dresses that expose the top half too much and the same way around, if i want to show a bit of skin up top then i try to keep the bottom half covered :) personally, i think by not revealing too much adds a bit of mystery. now who doesn't love some mystery in their life, right?
hence the question what sort of party dresses do you look for?

Ready to represent :)

a quick break from outfit post but i'm really excited about the upcoming Asia Fashion Exchange event held in Singapore from may 11th to the 22nd. it's basically 11 days of fashion madness that i'm constantly hoping to participate in and since they're in search of four bloggers that will be able to cover the event, i'm going to use this opportunity to take a shot at my sad marketing skills and shamelessly plug myself ;) so do pardon if this post may bore you but it's kind of a big deal so here goes....

as a fashion enthusiast, i feel that this event will be such a great learning experience. i believe that this is so much more than just attending fashion shows but rather about developing new rising talents and learning the business side of fashion, things that most of us often take lightly. it's truly a huge achievement to see how quickly the Asian fashion industry is emerging and to be able to have the opportunity to meet the people who are responsible in making this happen would be equally amazing. i feel this is the perfect time to bring attention to the whole Asian fashion scene and for that matter i fully support it. therefore if i'm lucky enough to be chosen hopefully i'll be able to do my part and share this rare experience to a wider audience in hopes that the world will finally acknowledge that asia's fashion industry is a force to be reckoned with...
*desperately crossing my fingers now ;)*

wish me luck peeps! (i'm going to need it...)

oh my is it still award seasons :) a big thanks to Catherine from modealite who kindly sent me this award quite some time ago. in accordance to this, supposedly i'm asked to list 8 things about me..I guess it's about time you folks know my weird habits ;p

I despise flip flops...unless i just got out of a nail salon or on my way to the beach, i believe it serves no other purpose hence should not be worn.

I enjoy watching fashion related documentaries.

I'm really short and it's not even funny...i don't know how short exactly but definitely way below the 160 cm mark.

I collect souvenir bells from different places i've traveled to..how dorky is that! so far my collection is up to 45 bells.

I'm an extremely picky shoe shopper...sometimes i think it would be easier if i just have them custom made instead.

I like making to do list...strangely i find it to be quite fun and it keeps you on track.

I never brush my hair which explains why it's always messy all the time ;) not that i recommend this but i find it pointless so i usually either blow dry it or just let it dry out by itself.

I'm totally obsessed with The Amazing Race

hopefully you all don't think less of me after reading this haha...next i am required to pass this on to 8 other bloggers. now this is no easy task, it's like a mother being asked to pick their favorite kid and no mother should be expected of such. so since i don't discriminate, i choose to gift all you gals the stylish blogger award instead simply because you are.
